Karen Buck is the Evidence Based Practice Administrator for Community Corrections, Department of Public Safety. Karen has overseen the implementation and continuous development of the practices aligned with the principles of EBP such as the supervision tools, quality assurance tools for supervisors, officer skill development, training, automation and policy. For the past 20 years she has worked in various roles within the department of Research & Planning, the Criminal Justice Partnership Eastern Coordinator and her favorite role is “hands on” practicing intervention tools with the officers and supervisors in the field. Karen possess diverse experience in the correctional setting beginning her career in 1990 after graduating from Kent State University with Mecklenburg PTR. Next moving on to Oriana House Community Corrections Organization in Akron, Ohio starting with a new Community based Correctional Facility as a case manager, Day Reporting and DTC Case manager, Summit County Jail Screener and House Arrest/Ohio Ignition Interlock Supervisor.
