Kendall Wood is the SPF-Rx Project Director at the Governor’s Institute on Substance Abuse where she provides project management and oversight for 5 NC SPF-Rx funded subrecipient communities. Previously, she served as the NC Partnership for Success Outreach Specialist assisting the state prevention team in planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based strategies, trainings and technical assistance efforts for 13 PFS grant funded subrecipient communities throughout North Carolina. Prior to moving to North Carolina in April of 2016, she served as the Program Coordinator for the Maryland Strategic Prevention Framework (MSPF) and the Opioid Misuse Prevention Program (OMPP) at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital preventing underage and binge drinking and helping reduce heroin and opioid overdose deaths throughout her local community. Mrs. Wood has experience working with coalitions, mobilizing communities, building capacity at local and state levels, and providing outreach and technical assistance to communities around substance use prevention. Mrs. Wood earned a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from the University of Maryland, College Park.
