Kim James has a Master’s in Rhetoric and Composition and is the Executive Director of Burke Recovery; a nonprofit agency in Burke County that provides substance use treatment and prevention services to adults and adolescents. In addition, Kim serves as the Leadership Chair for the Burke Substance Abuse Network (BSAN), a county-wide coalition dedicated to addressing the complex issue of substance use in the community. Her professional goals include promoting community engagement, enhancing prevention opportunities and developing new outreach programs and recovery initiatives dedicated to reaching those in need. In order to accomplish these goals, she utilizes her varied life experiences as an educator, an advocate, an administrator, a grant writer and a graphic designer.
